6th RNAS and cockpit models for Hell's Angels Super Patch - by Greybeard - 5 March 2010 New in v.9 Added a new, more historical color (cobalt blue) for "V" struts of Nieuport 11. Completely revised Damage Model and based on weight of aircraft parts. Introducing five flyable two-seaters (Roland CII, Hannover, Halberstadt CLII, FE2b and Brisfit) that allow to play careers into squadrons they belong (in practice, all those available when you start a new campaign, no more only fighter ones). Notes: you do not need to activate "All Squadrons" option in ReLoad, on the contrary it is confusing and may crash game. Still forbidden use of MissionGen to massage missions. New in v.8 Replaced Alb.DV model with DVa to match internal view about little stiffeners at wing strut Vee basis. Much more realistic Nieuport sesquiplanes Vee strut appearance. Introducing Delta-K's historically accurate Alb. DIII wing camouflage. Added a missing bitmap that could cause game crash. New in v.7 Revised FM. Minor graphics improvements. Reduced sound frequency of early Vickers and Spandau. Machine guns situation is according to following table: where, for each MG type, first two columns give historical rate of fire, free and synchronized. RB prefix is for "in-game" type modeling each gun, rate of fire given by game and related sound. Vickers(***): late one, entering service in May 1917, fitted with Hazelton device and coupled with Constantinesco synchronizer. Being early Vickers and Spandau modeled by "reloading guns" (respectively Lewis and Parabellum), you would avoid pauses for reloading by setting them to minimum, as shown below: It shows as well how to set "Front Guns" to get working forward fixed MG for two-seaters. Fixed Fokker D VII cockpit F2 view. Fixed missing cockpit panels on F2 view when an oil leak occurs on Fokker E III, Albatros D II, III and Va. New and improved virtual cockpit of Fokker Dr I. New in v.6 Revised all aircrafts to get them less unstable and more agile. Got rid of all "green" pixels in cockpit views of oil leakages and residual glaring ones at night. Rearranged set of guns and related sounds to get best matches in game about historical and audible rate of fire (e.g.: Lewis now fires 600 RPM - instead of 300 - and sounds 550 RPM). New in v.5 Introduced visible windscreens for most part of scouts. Corrected glitch that prevented some two-seaters to get missions during campaigns. Caudron G4 front gunner is now active. Morane Bullet now less prone to stall and spin during combat. Added new set for "fighter-bombers" duty , that is two-seaters servicing in fighter squadrons: ALLIED FE2b and Brisfit only in RFC 11-20-22-23: you may play a career only in this latter, starting not earlier than April 14th 1916! GERMAN Roland C II, Halberstadt CL II and Hannover CL III in 6KGI, 7KGI, 32KGVI, all Schlasta, Jasta 7 and Jasta 10: you may play a career only in this latter two Jasta, starting not earlier than April 1st 1916 in Jasta 7 and April 25th 1916 in Jasta 10! WARNING! DO NOT TRY TO FLY TWO-SEATERS OR GAME WILL CRASH! SAME IF YOU MASSAGE MISSION BY MISSIONGEN! THIS VERSION REQUIRES MANDATORY "RELOAD" WITH "FRONT GUNS" OPTION ENABLED AND "HARD RELOAD" DISABLED TO WORK PROPERLY! New in v.4 Removed SE5 strut shared bitmap which showed thin white areas on Camel undercarriage and replaced by a dedicated one. Replaced Fokker Dr I wooden wings strut and metal cabane with pale blue ones. Added better cockpit instruments. Improved appearance of metal Albatros struts in F2 view. Refined fuel consumption for all aircrafts for extreme realism (I found formula for fmparam3.dat is simply 360/HP*h, where HP is engine power and h historical duration in hours). Revised "duty" for many two-seaters, according to historical role, squadron type compatibility and tested performances: now DFW C V, Albatros C III, Salmson and Brisfit are "recon", but this means they play like fighters when fighting back any enemy attack, if "Front Guns" option has been enabled into ReLoad, in addition they seldom will perform bomb missions dropping them from a shallow dive; other ones reverted (or remained, or switched) to bomber, bomber/recon or fighter/bomber. Added corrected fuselage bitmaps to fix a wrong internal view for Albatros D III and D Va. New in v.3 Added missing graphics with oil leakages. Almost removed from Nie.17bis glaring effect at dusk (brilliant pixels in the dark - unwanted consequence of previous work). Added gunsight also in F1 view for french Nie.11. Added turnbuckles to wires and improved wing struts of SE5a and "sesquiplane" Nieuports in F2 view. THIS COMBO Adds a patch to have NŠ6 Naval Squadron, servicing Nieuports 17bis; it replaces Sopwith Snipe while 6th RNAS shares same "slot" with 43rd RFC which supersedes on 29 august, the day after NŠ6 Naval Squadron historically was disbanded. Nie.17bis also replaces Nie.24 only in "elite" french units, simulating too the mixed presence of Nie.24bis, almost identical. About cockpits, besides below mentioned features, some "asimmetrical" ones have been added, to better simulate aiming position (SPAD 13, Camel, Albatros D2, D3 and D5, Nieuport 24). In addition, some upper wing bottoms have been refined and rudders colored. Since flight model has been revised to accomodate Nie.17bis(*), its ailerons effectiveness has been improved, as well as that of all other Nieuports (11, 24 and "standard" 17). Gotha is now flyable by AI too. If used in conjunction with Gabilaser's ReLoad with "Front Guns" option enabled, you'll see recon two-seaters fighting back using also their fixed forward machinegun. A proper MissGen.txt has been added. Slightly corrected Pfalz D XII equivalent wingspan (according to Munk's factor). Improved many gunsights (that of Dr I even simulates an Oigee reflector gunsight). Aircrats specifications that you can read in game are now actual ones. (*): for same reason, DO NOT overwrite this patch with any else FM! FEATURES This is a modification to have a closer to reality player's point of view in "virtual cockpit" (F2) of Red Baron 3D patched with HASP. It has been moved forth while wings and their struts have been generally lowered to get a layout as close as possible to historical one. Where applicable, wing chord and its incidence have been made more realistic. Original or at least scaled drawings have been used as reference. Not all flyable have been revised: state of art of this beta is as follows. DONE: Nieuport 17 & 17bis SPAD VII Sopwith Triplane De Havilland D.H.2 R.A.F.
