Golgo's Sky & Ground Scenery FX Patch "Mission in The Dark" for Jolly's PL1 (Alpha version) by Golgo11 - 29 Apr. 2009 ######################################################## ONLY for "Fearless" testers and RB3D patch makers. Test at Your Own Risk! Please backup your RB3D folder or Create new one for testing. Installation by CM11 is recommended. This patch works only in Glide mode! * This patch works correctly only with JPL1 that are already patched by "DML_river_fix", or JPL1 along with WFP2 & MFP4!! May work with Gumps' Upgrade v2a and/ or Grumps' 3dpatch .vols, FCJ 2, PLasV1(a) and Mark_66's 7-Season, if they are fixed by "DML_river_fix" as well, but I've not tested them yet. When you've tested this patch with any of them, please let me know the result via SWWISA forum. ** Please refer to following forum threads that made an issue of a.k.a. "River Branch (Junction) Bug". ** The purpose of Alpha version is not only to find hidden bug of patch files but also to correct and improve the Timetable by testers. Comments and suggestions would be appreciated. ######################################################### * Alpha version consists of one of Sky & Ground FX set of Golgo's "Mission in The Dark", named "Dusk _S-A" and the Flanders Region part of "Timetable for The Sky & Ground FX set ". A) FX set "Dusk_S-A" "Dusk _S-A" FX set brings RB3D the Sunset through the Night scenery in Spring to Autumn. 'Dusk_S-A" includes; 1) New River FX files (.aph files; extends 'Full' reflections of the surface of the river) 2) Re-worked Coast FX files (.aph files; extends 'Partial' reflections and transparency of the surface of the sea), original files are from Tom Winter's Terrain series. 3) New Rail Road FX files (.aph files; extends 'Slight' reflections of the rail road) 4) A set of "rb3dcld.spl" &"rb3dgnd.spl" that is compiled by Skidmark and is included in his "Sky and Terrain patch for PL1/non-stock terrain". B) Timetable for The Sky & Ground FX set The timetable is based on my personal research about the times of Sun movements around Flanders region. I hope it helps your managing "Sky & Ground FX set". BUT PLEASE don't ask me about the details. I'm not an Astronomer! lol Of course, any suggestions and a better Table in form of Excel sheet would be highly appreciated! by CM11 (recommended) - Campaign - The points are; 1) Make a new campaign for a squadron in ""Flanders"". 2) Make a new mission by "Next Mission" ...... Quit RB. 3) Modify Campaign\ Change Hours by CM11. 4) Set appropriate time for assigned Night Mission by referring "Timetable for FX set ". 5) Click "Updata" .... Quit CM11, then start "Campaign". Or - using "Fly Now" in RB "Preferences" - 1) Go into RB "Preferences", "Fly Now Setting". 2) Select appropriate "Weather", "Season", "Time of Day" by referring "Timetable for FX set ", then "Fly Now". ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Few times the river silhouettes appear in Ground/ Haze layer with some of sets. (almost never appears with 'Dusk_S-A') I arranged **x .aph files for reducing those silhouettes for some sets, but there may not be a complete solution about this issue because of .aph feature limitations. ** According to making .aph files, I got many advices from Greybeard, RCA4X and many others, it was all appreciated. Especially; "The point is that under the ground there's THE SKY! So the more you make river tiles translucent (APH darker gray) the more you see "reflected" sky on the water." by Greybeard. Thanks to this suggestion, I got my idea of "partially masked .APH file". Thanks Greybeard!! Also you had better to see RAC4X's instruction about "the Active River files in each 3dpatch.vol of JPL1"; Without his instruction, this patch wouldn't be distributed. Thanks RAC4X !! 2. 'Dusk_S-A' uses Skidmark"s "PL1TmodV2 components, one of his arrenged set of "rb3dcld.spl" and Stock Autumn Ground "rb3dgnd.spl"l, for good looking of Sunset Scenery. If you use this set in the Day or very early time of Sunset, you will see odd colored ground. But... IMHO, 'Dusk_S-A' brings RB3D the most beautiful and natural sunset scenery than other set does. I beleive that you will find that the color of ground brought by 'Dusk_S-A' is acceptable when you use 'Dusk_S-A' appropriate time. (e.g. Flanders/ 20 Sept. / 6:30PM to 7:30PM) ** He kindly accepts my including his component into this patch, I can distribute this patch for RedBaron3D community. Thanks Slidmark!! 3. a.k.a. "Trees grow in the Sea" BUG. This is the most serious bug but I do not know why it occurs and how to solve it. For this bug, this patch will be always in Bata. 4. All of ".aph files" (river, coast and rail road FX files) of this patch are in Stock orientation. << Important Note >> If your RB3D is not fixed by "DML_river_fix" patch correctly, you will face "River Branch Bug". This patch does not and will not include the "DML_river_fix" patch. For further information, please see < http://forums.delphiforums.com/swwisa/messages/?msg=4483.1> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * 'Beta1' will include following sets; Dusk_Winter (Sunset, Dusk through Night) Dawn_Spring/ Summer (Night through Dawn) Dawn_Autumn (Night through Dawn) Dawn_Winter (Night through Dawn) Timetable for The Sky & Ground FX set of Golgo's "Mission in The Dark" (covers all 4 Regions, Flanders, Marne, Verdun and Alsace) (option) Night _All Season Dark Night_All Season (No moon/ No Sun) * Option sets will not have special "rb3dcld.spl" &"rb3dgnd.spl". - Rail Road files will be same. - Coast files will vary. - River files will vary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally, I'm grateful to the authors of Great RB3D UOPs and Utilities; Tom Winter for his T_Winter Terrain pack, Sunset Construction Kit, Winters Sky _ FX Set, Sunrise_and_Dawn, Kessler for his Promised Land Terrain series and FCJ 2, RAC_Gump for his Gumps Gumps' Upgrade v2a, RAC4X for his JPL1 3dpatch and short airfields, Otto von Stachel for his Hell Angels Super Patch, Mark_66 for his MFP 4, vonTom for his Campaign Manager 11, GabiLaser for his Reload, Greybeard for his many of RB Flight Model patches and Enhancements, Pat Wilson for his Mission Generator for RB3D, Cap'n Darwin for his FCJCP, DEGE for his dgVoodoo, Flybert for his Object Level Of Detail System, Zsolt Fazekaszs for DML_river_fix, Skidmark for his PL2 Terrain series and Date-Based Sky & Terrain System series.
