Golgo's NML Sound for WFP2 & MFP4 by Golgo11 - 06 May 2009 NML (No Man's Land) sounds Date-Base System. This patch is based on the idea of Mark_66 (the author of "Moving Front Patch 4" patch), "RB3D Tempo Management System And Random Campaign Generation". Using this patch, Gunfire sounds around NML will change not only by Month but also by the Intensity of Ground Operations. (e.g. Flanders March 1917, there is no Campaign so you will hear "Light Gunfire sounds" flying above NML, but in April, the "Arras" Heavy Ground Operation starts, so NML sounds turn to "Heavy".) I made this sound patch when I started to play RB3D, I revise some sound sources for my other patch, "Mission in the Night". This sound patch will be useful to find and keep the route to the target in the dark night, but I think that this sound patch will be fun for all RB Die-Hard Pilots in any kinds of Mission. When Heavy Ground Operation starts in your region, try to dive where Gunfires sound. You will hear brave but hopeless sounds.... S! This sound patch consists of a Gunfire sound (802d0000.wav) and a Church Bell sound (80380000.wav). Why Bell sounds? You will hear well harmonized bell sound in Flanders region, while you will hear antiquated one in other 3 regions, Alsace/ Marne/ Verdun. This patch will be work any UOPs that are compatible with WFP2, because I'm personally using this patch with WFP2 & MFP4, so I arranged the date (YYMMDD) of sub folders to match with those two UOP's. * von Tom's Campaign Manager 11 (Mandatory) * Mark_66's Note of "RB3D Tempo Management System And Random Campaign Generation" (http://majpalmer.com/horst/mark66.htm) a) Unzip "NML_Sounds.zip" on your desktop b) Open "NML_sounds" folder, place all of 4 "Region Sound set" folders (" Alsace", "Flanders", "Marne", "Verdun"), into your \CM11\patches folder. Select the Region Sound set folder that your squadron is allocated and install it by von Tom's Campaign Manager 11. If your squadron moves out to other region or you are transferred to other squadron, uninstall current Region folder and install appropriate Region folder by CM11. This patch includes an option RB startup sound, named "LeRhoneStart2b.wav". You will hear "Distant Battle Field Sound" when you start Campaign. It will match to any time, any season and any region, I think. ** Be carefull!! CM11 cannot handle this long named file correctly, so please do not intend to install this sound file by CM11. Drag & Drop it into \Data\simpatch manually. If your current UOP installs its original "LeRhoneStart2b.wav", remove it and keep it in safe place before installing the "LeRhoneStart2b.wav" of this patch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NB: * Please remember CM11 basic usage; once "Install" or "Uninstall" any kind of patch, you better Open "Campaigns" tab of CM11, Select your current campaign in the box and click "Open". CM11 will check, copy or overwrite all of needed files for your current campaign. *If you hear "tick, tick" sounds near NML, you've forgotten to install one of Region sound set. Abort mission and install a proper Region Sound set by CM11 and restart your mission. *** If you want to uninstall this patch completely, uninstall current Region folder by CM11. But I recommend you to install "Alsace" and leave it. The 802d0000.wav of "Alsace" is almost similar one of WFP2. ("Alsace" does not change NML sounds since none of Campaigns were executed there. It install only one file, "802d0000.wav".) **** If you do not like changing Church Bell sound, please remove the "3dpatch" folder that is included in each Region folders before placing "Region Sound set" folders into \CM11\patches. I hope someone will make better Gunfire sounds and upload them to RB related web sites in the future. S! Golgo11
