Readme File --------------------- Intermediate Damage Model for OFF BHaH 2.2 Now with Enhanced Damage Effects! by Herr Prop Wasche IMPORTANT: This is a recommended update for all users of IDM 2.1. INSTALLATION: Simply right-click the IDM_2_2.zip file and extract to the OBDSoftware\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields folder. DO NOT unzip the file into the aircraft folder itself! If prompted, simply click "Yes to all" when asked if you wish to replace files. If you later decide to go back to either the normal or hardcore damage models, simply run the appropriate DM program from OBD. Changes in 2.2 Added appropriate bdp files for each aircraft. In certain circumstances in previous versions, the bdp files from other DMs were not being deleted, resulting in the failure of the IDM to work correctly. This update takes care of that problem. Also included a file to automatically remove bdp files from other DMs. Click on "deletebdps.bat" to run this program, if needed. BHaH will automatically recreate the bdp files based upon the currently installed DM the next time you fly. --------------------- Intermediate Damage Model for OFF BHaH 2.1 Now with Enhanced Damage Effects! Changes in version 2.1 Version 2.1 is a completely reworked version of the Intermediate Damage Model for BHaH, including QC and the full campaign! Changes in v2.1 include a slight increase in hit points to the wings, aileron cables, and the oil reservoir; along with reductions in hit points to the rudder and elevators. However, the most significant change in v2.1 of the IDM is the addition of enhanced damage effects! Depending on the severity of the damage, aircraft will now display not only bullet holes, but also rips and tears, oil and coolant leaks, exposed wing spars, and broken wing tips. Entire wings may break off, and fires and engine explosions will also be seen on rare occasions! In addition to the enhanced graphics, damaged aircraft should also display more varied and realistic behavior. Aircraft that drift sedately into the ground after being hit are now hopefully a thing of the past. I have worked for a long time implementing and testing these changes and am very proud of the results. I hope you enjoy using the mod as much as I have enjoyed making it. A special thanks to OBD for their help and encouragement in the making of this mod. I also want to thank Fortiesboy for allowing me to bounce ideas off of him. This mod would not have been possible without their help and assistance. Salute! --------------------- Intermediate Damage Model for OFF BHaH v1.6 Changes in version 1.6 Version 1.6 now contains a complete damage model for ALL of the aircraft currently in Between Heaven and Hell 1.30c, including all campaign aircraft! File also contains a few bugfixes which may have prevented certain aircraft from being flyable in previous versions. --------------------- Intermediate QC Damage Model for OFF BHaH v1.1 Changes in version 1.1 Added a change to the hit point values for rudder and elevator cables. The OBD version of 18 hit points for these components were increased to 25. --------------------- Intermediate QC Damage Model for OFF BHaH v1.0 Thank you for downloading version 1.0 of my intermediate QC damage model for Between Heaven and Hell, the marvelous WWI flight sim modification of CFS3 by OBD Software. I would first like to express my thanks and appreciation to OBD Software for allowing me to release an intermediate damage model based upon their already excellent "hardcore" damage model. Except for any changes made by me, the damage model for OFF remains the sole work and property of OBD Software. What this version does: this version of the damage model is roughly "halfway" between the easy and hardcore damage models already released by OBD. The hit points of the aileron cables, ailerons, and wings were changed so that these components are now roughly 75% as strong as they were in the hardcore DM. I believe this results in somewhat more varied and believable aircraft performance when damaged than currently seen in either the normal or hardcore damage models. If you have any questions or experience any problems with the installation of this mod, you can reach me at www.combatace.com at the Over Flanders Field forum. Thank you and I hope you enjoy the mod!
