When you have a bit of free time come on over to Targetware's website at www.targetware.net and have a look at what's available during the open beta period.

Korea, WW2 Pacific Theatre and WW1 are now represented. the Vetnam Conflict and others are on the horizon.

The Target Flanders mod has a new design team who are actively honing and polishing the original WW1 Targetware mod. I am heading up the effort taking over the role that Vlasov has held since TF's inception. In the event that Vlasov has some renewed interest at a point in the future I will be archiving Target Flanders and preserving it for Vlasov and the original TF team members. I have a slightly different path in mind for WW1 with Targetware and feel it's best to follow that path with a mod that branches off from the original "Vision".

Come take a look, Watch us grow and if you like what you see happening and would like to consider contributing stop by the forums under the community tab on the main page and say hi.

During the open beta period (which I feel has a good period of time to run yet) you can create a totally free account and fly in three era's. When Targetware does go pay you'll have many options to spend your online air combat time in for that $0.33 cents a day. I know some have objections to paying to fly but I must say I've never spent a better $0.33 cents for entertainment than finding a perpetual online arena filled with skilled sticks to compete against. Targetware promises to outclass any of the arena's I've flown online in.

It is still very much beta. It's getting better with every update!

Have been there, have tried that to no avail. I can't seem to get the program to work for me.

Maybe someday, but until then... :)

I'd be happy to try to help you solve the problem. The responses and help on the targetware forums are also a great way to get past any initial problems.

Most of the program launch problems seem to be related to older vid drivers and updating has been the cure.

Thanks JoGunn I dl'd the latest version of T. Flanders and was able to go online with no problems this time around.

Well... it did take me 2 planes to finally take off.. :) but once up it was smooth flyin.. well until I tried a split s to get on the tail of an enemy... engine died and had to glide to the ground.

Interesting game, the plane detail is great, close up. From a distance.. everything is very remenicant of DOA.

Square pixels for distant planes etc.

Will experiment more though, it seems to have potential.

Glad you got in to take a look around. Those fixed pitch props will toast your engine on a extended dive. You hafta cut throttle or blip off the engine to insure that you do not toast your motor.

The real work has just begun although the mod has been around for some time. I've had my hands on the controls for a short time and have seen some very nice improvements since taking over the directors role.

The important thing I'd like to convey is to keep checking back in. We have only scratched the surface. Several skilled modelors and skinners have only recently gotten hooked on Targetware WW1. We hope to grow at an accelerated rate compared to what's happened to the TF mod over the past year and a half.

Another trick to help on takeoffs is to desensitize your rudder a bit. (see settings tab) The 058 update that has recently been made available may help as well with it's reduced propwash effects.

I look forward to dodging your bullets one day!

S!
