Why change the aircraft service start and end dates?
Well, I noticed, when flying in 'Single Mission' that the game's randomly chosen AI adversary was sometimes not historically correct for the time period.
For example:
In 'Single Mission', when choosing to fly the Fokker Dr.I in 1917, the game would sometimes select the Sopwith Triplane as the AI opponent. In reality the Dr.I was not delivered to the western front in significant numbers until October 1917, and the Sopwith Triplane had all but disappeared from the front by September of that year. Therefore, historically, the chances of them meeting in combat was very remote.
By changing the service dates of the 82 aircraft included here, you should find that no matter which plane and year you select in 'Single Mission', the AI planes you fly against will always be historically correct adversaries.
